SEATTLE, Sept. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Academy Award-nominated director Vadim Perelman has joined forces with Seattle-based digital rights management agency Nimia, becoming a member of their advisory board. Perelman is best known for his critically acclaimed 2003 feature film debut "House of Sand and Fog" starring Ben Kingsley and Jennifer Connelly. The Ukrainian director has also directed multinational commercials for Microsoft, General Motors, Panasonic, Nike, Airwalk, AT&T, Sony PlayStation, Coors, and MasterCard.

Nimia is a Seattle-based media company that provides an online platform for premier video producers to archive, license, manage and distribute their video assets. The company was co-founded in 2011 by friends Zach McIntosh and Eric Harrison. It acts as a centralized hub for both video footage consumers and producers.

"We're very excited that Vadim has joined forces with us over here at Nimia," said Harrison, Nimia's President. "The experience and insight he brings to our advisory board is extremely valuable and we believe he'll be instrumental toward our future success."

"As a visionary, Vadim brings unparalleled domain expertise to the advisory board," added McIntosh, Nimia's CEO.

About Vadim Perelman
Perelman was born in Kiev and attended the University of Alberta where he initially studied physics and math before altering his focus toward film. He then moved to Toronto, where he founded his own Toronto-based production house, Canned Films, but soon moved to Los Angeles to begin a career directing music videos and commercials.  Perelman's other feature film work includes the 2007 thriller The Life Before Her Eyes starring Uma Thurman and Evan Rachel Wood.
